probably :< that and its been bred into human minds that bugs are 'creepy' and because of that they should be killed. I'll admit, its natural life for bugs to be killed all the time, for survival, by accident, feed other animals, natural selection, etc. but killed for fun, or for the heck of it? thats just not nice :< same goes for snakes. I never understood why someone would be afraid of a little snake unless it was venomous or big enough to strangle you. yet here they are being killed in people's gardens just because they're 'scary.' whats it going to do, bite you? cats and dogs bite all the time too, but you don't go around chopping their heads off with a shovel. humans, we're such silly creatures~ <XD
I'm not exactly pumped up for "fighting for insect rights," but I just think it's kinda pointless to go around doing what you just said. From age 5, I've never really had the mindset that insects were creepy, in fact the only ounce I have of that feeling I have is from earlier upbringing. I've been labeled "spider-girl" for my strong interest towards spiders and insects, and the like.
Speaking of which, I caught a small spider today and named it Herman. I think I'm doing to draw him c:
<XD aww, how sweet! Even in growing up fearing those creepy crawlies, i think it has a lot to do with people's level if interest and intelligence about the subject. Bugs probably wouldn't be so scary to a lot of people if they simply knew more about them. Once i got older and started learning about just how interesting they were, i couldn't get enough of them!
Exactly!! More people die from wasp stings every year than spider bites, and there aren't actually many poisonous spiders that are harmful to humans in the world. At least, that's what I heard. I'm not 100% spider-savvy, but I do know some things...
